An aspiring actress has said Steven Seagal sexually assaulted her during a supposed casting session when she was 17.

Faviola Dadis made the claim at a news conference today.

The former model said she had recently moved to the US from the Netherlands when she was invited to a Beverly Hills hotel room in 2002 to audition for Seagal for a film he planned to make about Genghis Khan.

The 33-year-old said only the Hollywood star and his bodyguard were in the room when the actor reached under her bikini top and then grabbed her genitals.

Ms Dadis said she ended the audition and immediately left.

She said she feared being blacklisted if she reported Seagal, and only recently filed a police report.

Los Angeles County prosecutors say they are reviewing the case.

Martial arts expert Seagal shot to fame playing playing Navy Seal counter-terrorist expert Casey Ryback in Under Siege in 1992. As well as an actor, Seagal is a guitarist and has released two studio albums.

He is an outspoken environmentalist as well as a supporter of Tibetan Buddhist leader the Dalai Lama while also a friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Last year, actress Portia De Rossi accused Seagal of sexually harassing her during a movie audition. She claims that during an audition he told her "how important it was to have chemistry off-screen" before unzipping his trousers.

And in January another actress, Rachel Grant, made a sexual assault allegation against Seagal, claiming an incident took place in 2002.

Seagal has denied all the claims.
