Maine astronaut Chris Cassidy retires after 28 years of public service
Maine astronaut and Navy SEAL Chris Cassidy is retiring after 28 years of service. Cassidy, who returned to Earth from the International Space Station in October 2020, said Friday was his last day after 17 years with NASA. All told, he made three separate voyages to the space station. Cassidy was born in Salem, Massachusetts, but considers his hometown to be York, Maine, where he attended high school.
