It's an understatement to say President Trump's communication style departs from that of his predecessors. He launches near-daily missives from his Twitter account, which he says lets him get an "honest and unfiltered message out" without having to go through the "FAKE MSM." Between rollicking press briefings and the occasional freewheeling interview with the — ahem — mainstream media, there's a lot of presidential speech to keep track of. So we present the highlights: Year One of the Trump administration, as told by those who are (or were) part of it.

JAN. 20 This American carnage stops right here and stops right now. — President Trump

This would be the most significant reform to the immigration system in half a century. — Trump

NOV. 29 Just spoke to President XI JINPING of China concerning the provocative actions of North Korea. Additional major sanctions will be imposed on North Korea today. This situation will be handled! — Trump

NOV. 30 The Chinese Envoy, who just returned from North Korea, seems to have had no impact on Little Rocket Man. Hard to believe his people, and the military, put up with living in such horrible conditions. Russia and China condemned the launch. — Trump

DEC. 2 I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI. He has pled guilty to those lies. It is a shame because his actions during the transition were lawful. We got no Democrat help and I think that's going to cost them very big in the election because they voted against tax cuts. And I don't think politically it's good to vote against tax cuts. — Trump

DEC. 3 After years of Comey, with the phony and dishonest Clinton investigation (and more), running the FBI, its reputation is in Tatters - worst in History! But fear not, we will bring it back to greatness. — Trump

DEC. 4 We are not surprised by today's Supreme Court decision permitting immediate enforcement of the President's proclamation limiting travel from countries presenting heightened risks of terrorism. — White House spokesman Hogan Gidley

DEC. 6 I have determined that it is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. While previous presidents have made this a major campaign promise, they failed to deliver. Today, I am delivering. — Trump

DEC. 12 Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Chuck Schumer and someone who would come to my office "begging" for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump. Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED! — Trump

Congratulations to Doug Jones on a hard fought victory. The write-in votes played a very big factor, but a win is a win. The people of Alabama are great, and the Republicans will have another shot at this seat in a very short period of time. It never ends! — Trump

DEC. 13 Thank you Omarosa for your service! I wish you continued success. — Trump

DEC. 14 The Trump administration supports the FCC's effort to roll back burdensome regulations, but … we certainly support a free and fair Internet. — Sanders

DEC. 15 I don't want to talk about pardons for Michael Flynn yet. We'll see what happens. Let's see. I can say this: When you look at what's gone on with the FBI and with the Justice Department, people are very, very angry. — Trump

DEC. 18 A nation without borders is not a nation. A nation that does not protect prosperity at home cannot protect its interests abroad. A nation that is not prepared to win a war is a nation not capable of preventing a war. A nation that is not proud of its history cannot be confident in its future. And a nation that is not certain of its values cannot summon the will to defend them. — Trump

DEC. 20 When we make a decision, at the will of the American people, about where to locate OUR embassy, we don't expect those we've helped to target us. On Thursday, there will be a vote at the U.N. criticizing our choice. And yes, the U.S. will be taking names. — United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley

I hate to say this — but we essentially repealed Obamacare because we got rid of the individual mandate, which was terrible. — Trump

The Tax Cuts are so large and so meaningful, and yet the Fake News is working overtime to follow the lead of their friends, the defeated Dems, and only demean. This is truly a case where the results will speak for themselves, starting very soon. Jobs, Jobs, Jobs! — Trump

It's not only Pakistan that we pay billions of dollars to for nothing, but also many other countries, and others. As an example, we pay the Palestinians HUNDRED OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS a year and get no appreciation or respect. — Trump

North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the "Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times." Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works! — Trump
