Peak TV is back and bigger than any season before.
The 2017-2018 TV schedule of new shows includes spinoffs, revivals, franchise inevitabilities and even a few original ideas.

“Alex, Inc.”: Zach Braff stars in a sitcom based on a podcast about starting a podcast.
“The Crossing”: The drama, starring Steve Zahn, Natalie Martinez and Sandrine Holt, follows refugees fleeing to America — from an America ravaged by a war that hasn’t happened yet.
“Deception”: Jack Cutmore-Scott plays an illusionist who, in an attempt to redeem himself after a scandal, joins the FBI to use his tricks to catch criminals.
“For the People”: The latest ShondaLand drama follows new lawyers working in the U.S. District Court in New York.
“The Good Doctor”: Fresh off “Bates Motel,” Freddie Highmore stars as a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome.
“The Gospel of Kevin”: Jason Ritter plays a selfish man given a mission to save the world by a “celestial being.” JoAnna Garcia, Cristela Alonzo and J. August Richards also star.
“Inhumans”: Marvel’s latest foray into TV follows Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s comics with the story of Black Bolt and the royal family of superhumans. “Inhumans” stars Eme Ikwuakor, Ken Leung, Anson Mount, Serinda Swan, Isabelle Cornish and Iwan Rheon.
“The Mayor”: Daveed Digg’s comedy follows a young rapper (Brandon Michael Hall) who accidentally becomes mayor of his California town. Yvette Nicole Brown, Lea Michele, Bernard David Jones and Marcel Spears also star.
“Roseanne”: The revival of the beloved sitcom, almost 20 years after it left the air, will see Roseanne Barr and John Goodman return to their iconic roles.
“Splitting Up Together”: A couple (Jenna Fischer and Oliver Hudson) find the romance in their marriage again mid-divorce.
“Ten Days in the Valley”: Kyra Sedgwick stars as Jane Sadler, a single mother whose daughter goes missing.

A newly single actor (Mark Feurstein) finds himself in a new apartment, living between his parents and his brother.
“Young Sheldon”
The success of “Big Bang Theory” has spawned a prequel about 9-year-old genius Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage) growing up in East Texas surrounded by friends and family who just don’t get him.
“Me, Myself & I”
Bobby Moynihan, Lohn Larroquette and Jack Dylan Grazer star as one man at three different stages in his life: age 14 in 1991, age 40 in present day and age 65 in 2042.
“Seal Team”
David Boreanaz leads the cast in a new military drama about a unit of Navy SEALs. Also satrs Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley, Toni Trucks and Jessica Jessica Paré.
“S.W.A.T.”
Based on the movie of the same name – which was based on the 1975 TV series – “S.W.A.T.” follows a sergeant (Shemar Moore) in Los Angeles.
“Wisdom of the Crowd”
Jeremy Piven stars as a tech innovator who develops a crowdsourcing app to solve his daughter’s murder.

“Ghosted”: A skeptic (Craig Robinson) and a true believer (Adam Scott) join a secret government agency to look into paranormal activity in Los Angeles.
“The Gifted”: A suburban couple find their world turned upside down after being forced to go on the run when the government hunts down their children, who possess mutant powers.
“L.A. to Vegas”: A group of underdogs find themselves on the same Friday night flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and back again Sunday morning with the dream of coming home a winner.
“The Orville”: Seth MacFarlane executive produces and stars in a sci-fi show 400 years in the future aboard the U.S.S. Orville. Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald and Scott Grimes also star in the workplace comedy.
“The Resident”: A hotshot doctor (Matt Czuchry) finds himself working under a senior resident (Bruce Greenwood) who shows him the reality of the hospital. Emily VanCamp, Manish Dayal and Shaunette Wilson also star.

“A.P. Bio”: Glenn Howerton plays a philosophy scholar who winds up teaching high school biology. Patton Oswalt, Lyric Lewis, Mary Sohn, Aparna Brielle, Jacob McCarthy, Nick Peine also star.
“The Brave”: A group of analysts work with surveillance technology in D.C. while an undercover special ops team works to protect freedom around the world. Stars Anne Heche, Mike Vogel, Sofia Pernas, Tate Ellington, Natacha Karam, Demetrius Grosse, Noah Mills and Hadi Tabbal.
“Champions”: Mindy Kaling writes, executive produces and stars in a comedy about two brothers (Anders Holm, Andy Favreau) who find themselves stuck with a surprise teenage son from one of Vince’s (Holm) high school fling.
“Good Girls”: Three suburban wives and moms, including Retta and Mae Whitman, decide to rob a local supermarket out of desperation.
“Law & Order: True Crime — The Menendez Murders”: The eight-episode installment will take on the murder case of the Menendez brothers, who stood trial for killing their parents in Beverly Hills. Edie Falco stars as their defense attorney.
“Reverie”: Former hostage negotiator Mara King (Sarah Shahi) becomes a college professor, then finds herself helping people lost in a virtual-reality program.
“Rise”: Josh Radnor returns to network TV as a teacher who takes over his school’s theater department.
“Will and Grace”: The beloved sitcom returns for a 12-episode revival with original stars Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally.
