Two familiar faces are in town for the filming of a new movie.

Dragged Across Concrete stars Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn as two cops whose less than conventional tactics put them at the centre of a media firestorm.

It's written and directed by S. Craig Zahler, who also wrote and directed Bone Tomahawk.

Gibson managed to get back into the good graces of Hollywood earlier this year when he was nominated for an Oscar for best director for Hacksaw Ridge.

Mel Gibson (seen in Edge of Darkness) will be back in front of the camera holding a gun.

This came more than a decade after Gibson went on a well-publicized anti-Jewish rant. It followed his arrest for impaired-driving by a Jewish police officer in Los Angeles.

Vaughn, a self-described libertarian, played Sgt. Howell in Hacksaw Ridge.

The Daily Mail reported that during this year's Golden Globe Awards ceremony, Gibson and Vaughn "did not have the look of love on their faces" during Meryl Streep's speech criticizing an unnamed U.S. president.

Olivia Munn will spend more time in Vancouver

Olivia Munn bares her love for animals.

Meanwhile in other Hollywood North news, actor Olivia Munn has been cast in the Navy Seal drama Six, which is shot in Vancouver.

Munn, an animal-loving former sports reporter and model, has appeared in X-Men: Apocalypse, Ironman 2, and Date Night.

She was also cast in director Shane Black's The Predator, which was recently shot in Vancouver and is expected to be released next year.
